Time Line Tayco was founded in 1971 by President & CEO, Charles Taylor, as a manufacturer of electrical heaters and
temperature sensors for aerospace applications. Over the past thirty years, we have
acquired a diverse range of capabilities in research, development, and manufacturing. We
have greatly expanded our line of products and now service the medical, defense, nuclear,
semi-conductor and aerospace industries.
A philosophy of providing the highest level of engineering expertise, quality, and
customer support has proven to be a valuable formula over the years. Our customer base has
steadily grown to approximately 700 globally and we have produced over 12,500 flight
proven designs. Tayco has participated in most of the major space programs, every single
manned spacecraft and deep space probe, space shuttles, Space Station Freedom, and the
majority of orbiting satellites (commercial and defense applications). Tayco, a NASA
Certified Supplier, has established itself as a preferred or mandatory source for numerous
critical applications
Company Profile
Tayco Engineering, Inc. has five major product
groups: flexible polyimide & silicone heaters, flexible cable, temperature sensors,
high temperature metallic heaters, and specialty products. Our specialty products include
pressure switches, flow measurement devices, infrared black body radiation sources, and
composite heaters.
Tayco currently employs over 165 employees at our facility in Cypress, California. Over
the years, we have built strong long term relationships with both customers and employees.
Employee turnover is low and we continue to support many of our original customers.

At Tayco Engineering, quality is every
employee's responsibility. Considering the many critical systems that rely on our parts to
perform without failure, quality assurance is never compromised.
Our Quality Department is staffed and equipped to perform a variety of test functions
on site: electrical testing thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, leak detection, and tight
tolerance calibration. Tayco's Quality Assurance Personnel monitor the entire
manufacturing cycle by performing in-process inspections and material audits regularly.
Detailed records of all processes from start to finish are recorded and maintained on
file.
Tayco operates in compliance with ISO-9001, ANSIASQC Q9001, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-I-45208,
NHB-5300-4 (1C), and ANSI-NCSL-Z540-1. All equipment is maintained to NIST Standards and
all documentation is retained on file permanently.
Facilities
Tayco moved to the City of Cypress, Orange
County California, in 1990 in order to accommodate steady growth. Our modern 55,000 sq.
ft. facility accommodates all manufacturing, administrative, and engineering personnel.
Our plant includes a fully equipped machine shop, twenty-one lamination tables, photo
imaging system, etching system, a fully equipped test area, modular production quarters,
clean room, two cable laminating machines, and equipment to support full CAD capabilities.
All products are designed, manufactured, and tested at our Cypress location.
